Week 2

This week is actually really difficult. After the initial high of having many ideas and stuff I'm fizzling out a little. I still need three people and my brain is tired. I contacted Sally Scott, a local artist, and Kingsley Buitendag, a local musician. I have one interview scheduled so far for Wednesday at 3pm with the freelance actor I got in contact with, Tristan Jacobs. He's been a freelance actor in Grahamstown for nearly a year now, and I still have to think of stuff to ask him.
The coffee shop idea and the idea about the parrot girl are turning out to be very hard to make feasible. I just don't have that personality where I can approach complete strangers when they're busy and ask them stuff. I've become very reliant on email and the telephone to correspond with sources first before I approach them. The earring guy is also quite daunting to approach (that and when the weather's bad he doesn't come out to sell his wares, and the weather's been quite bad recently. I'll try him some more though.
I'm worried about editing. So far I've tried to do all the right things when I recorded and I listen to each recording afterwards, and most of them have been fine, but finding that gem of sound, no matter how probing the questions, might not come through with the editing. I'm a wee bit scared, I admit.
More later!
