First outside interview

Today I did my first interview outside. I interviewed Andile Niyaka, Grocott's Mail reporter and poet. I met Andile during my internship at Grocott's and I thought he'd be cool to interview, because he grew up in Grahamstown and because he is part of a community I hardly ever encounter. He's very good with words, they just come naturally to him, and while I was interning I always felt uncomfortably aware of how book smart I am compared to his easy demeanour and confident street cred. When I was busy learning about the five W's and the H, he was living life and making up words. The interview was on a bench on his lunch break, and there were many loud passerby's. I turned down the levels and kept the mike close to his mouth. I hope it worked, haven't edited yet, because I want to get through the interviewing phase first.
It was really grand, he spoke about a new language he falls into when he's writing, how it's not English or isiXhosa, but the language of expression.
Twas very cool indeed
